The oven should be preheated to 350°F. Remove the seitan from the steamer and place it on a baking sheet after it has finished steaming. For 30 minutes, bake it in the oven. Before cutting the seitan log, remove it from the oven and let it cool completely.
Unwrapping it now will allow it to cool more quickly (be careful, it will be hot). Once the seitan has reached room temperature, store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container.
Use a sharp knife to thinly slice the seitan deli meat log when ready to eat. The last step is to make your favorite sandwich with seitan vegan deli meat! Ours went on a sandwich with lettuce, smoked tomato, vegan mayo, avocado, and vegan gouda cheese.
